HELPING BUSINESS OWNERS IS OUR GOAL

Why do single page websites not work the best for Search Engine Optimization? This is an interesting question and it almost seems like efficient coding is punished by google. I will explain why.

Here’s a scenario: you are a proficient web designer and know enough HTML, JS, and CSS to make your own website from scratch. Easy choice right? This is the most secure way to build a website. No backend to attack, no patches to exploit. Seems like an easy option right? Wrong. Unfortunately, google does not rank your site as high as a website with multiple pages. Regardless of how many backlinks you add, or how many metatags you add, or even how many times you pay to have your website advertised-it doesn’t seem to help. This is really unfortunate as I have yet to find a website that loads faster than a single page website. If you do not care about search engine optimization, a single page website is definitely the way to go, however 90% of websites depend on a high search engine ranking.

A question I would propose: Is google hindering innovation due to their search engine algorithm? It would make sense to reward people with the best performing websites in addition to amazing SEO  with a higher search engine rank.

When determining which route to go with your website, it is best to think about this. If you’re not sure, contact us and we can give you advice.
